Andrew says happy World Book Day

World Book Day Andrew has welcomed that fact that today, 4th March, is World Book Day. It is dedicated to encouraging a love of reading in children and adults in the UK.  It is also a good time for us to remember that many people in this world have no access to books at all. The annual event celebrates books and reading in over 100 countries around the World.

Organisers of World Book Day are urging people to help in a quick and easy way, by taking two minutes to watch an online film about a slum library in Nairobi where books are changing lives every day. Just by doing this very simple thing, you will be helping to spread the word that books can change lives!

Andrew Gwynne MP said:

“World book day is about sharing your enjoyment of books with others, and hopefully introducing more people to reading experiences. Supporters of the day help make books available to people who otherwise would never experience the wealth of knowledge and joy that a book can bring.”
