Andrew takes Six simple Steps to support Ovarian Cancer Campaign. | |
In the guide, examples are given as to how MPs might support some of these steps, either in their own constituency or at a national level. The six simple steps are to: 1. ensure studies examining why 2. improve awareness of symptoms amongst women and health professionals by supporting both local and national initiatives 3. ensure all GPs have access to urgent diagnostic tests 4. ensure all women have access to a clinical nurse specialist 5. improve levels of emotional support available to women and 6. ensure women have equitable access to clinical trials and new treatments Andrew has also been given a personalised pledge card to pledge support the six simple steps during the next parliamentary term, which he has now signed. Andrew Gwynne MP said: "All MPs have a critical role to play in ensuring women with ovarian cancer are diagnosed quickly and treated successfully. This is a hugely important issue to women’s health and one I feel personally committed to, losing my mum to ovarian cancer 16 years ago. I am pleased to support Target Ovarian Cancer's important campaign on this issue."
