Andrew welcomes Tameside Community Representatives to Ten Downing Street

Ten Downing Street Community Heroes ReceptionAndrew invited some constituents down to a reception held at Ten Downing Street. Andrew took Sarah Kew, a Community Regeneration Manager from the Denton South Partnership and Denton South Community Campaigner Claire Francis to the event. The “Community Heroes reception” is held at Ten Downing Street, and is an opportunity for MPs to recognise people who have made a contribution in their community.  At last weeks event they all had a picture taken with the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown MP and his wife Sarah Brown.

Andrew Gwynne MP said:

'I was extremely proud that Sarah Kew had the opportunity to meet Gordon and Sarah Brown in the reception for Community Heroes in 10 Downing Street.”

“Sarah was chosen by me because of the dedicated work, over a number of years, by her team to regenerate the Haughton Green and Denton South area in my constituency. The results of the work of the Denton South Partnership and the regeneration team have really helped to transform the area. I honestly wish I could have invited all the people who made such a change to the area down to the reception at No 10.”

Sarah Kew said:

“It was such an honour to come to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister and his wife Sarah. There was a wonderful atmosphere and it was very a memorable day. I am very grateful to Andrew for arranging it.”
